About AmericaQuote & Christianity: The Sign of the Fish
The figure of the fish was first drawn by early Christians as a secret mark of identity in the time of persecution. The earliest followers of Jesus were persecuted and forced to worship in secret locations. They adopted a secret symbol – the fish. The letters in the Greek word for fish (Ι Χ Θ Υ Σ) stand for Ι-Jesus, Χ-Christ, Θ-God’s, Υ-Son, Σ-Savior.
The fish symbol transcends differences in cultures and denominations. From generation to generation, the fish symbolizes true followers of Jesus Christ, God’s Son.
As AmericaQuote’s owner and a Christian, I wanted to use this space to share my perspective on life and business… I believe the life of a Christian should be committed to glorifying and serving God through his or her lifestyle. God gave us the ten commandments to guide our lives. In the book of Matthew 22:37-39 (New Testament), Jesus was asked what is the greatest commandment of all. This was His answer: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it; You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (New American Standard Version)
Taking this second commandment and applying it to selling insurance, we are commanded to present honest and accurate information. A simple way to say it is… treat people fairly as I would like to be treated if I were buying something. By God’s grace, we aim to glorify God on this website by providing the best possible insurance-buying advice. Please let us know if we hit or miss that goal.
